Moving on to MarginNote 2, its features include support for PDF and EPUB formats for reading, annotation and note-taking features such as text highlight and rectangular highlight, the ability to add notes directly at the page margin without overlapping book content, and various forms of comments in notes such as text, voice, picture, and sketching. It also offers the option to add hashtags to notes for easy connection between them. Outline and mindmap views are combined into one, allowing for easy creation and editing of outlines using swipe gestures. Flashcards can be created from highlights and notes for review with a spaced repetition algorithm based on Anki. iPad Pro and Apple pencil users can take advantage of split view, high-precision drawing, and keyboard shortcuts. MarginNote 2 also offers import/export and sync capabilities with applications such as Evernote, OmniOutliner, iThoughts, MindManager, and allows for exporting all margin notes, mind maps, outlines, and pages to a printable PDF. Lastly, books and notes can be synced with iCloud.
